Ancient Roman

Bronze annular pendant with circular decoration – Imperial Roman period Culture: Roman. Reference period: 2nd–4th centuries CE. Material: Cast bronze. Dimensions: 34 × 26 × 8 mm. Auction description: Interesting bronze annular pendant of Roman archaeological typology, characterized by its sturdy pierced circular frame and its upper suspension ring integrated into the body of the piece. The front surface features an attractive ornamental composition formed by three recessed circular motifs, distributed symmetrically around the central opening and bounded by geometric reliefs. Its design combines the practicality of a suspended element with the ornamental characteristic of small metal objects from Antiquity. Bronze pendants formed part of both personal adornment and the fittings of Roman equestrian tack, frequently incorporating geometric and circular elements. Its intense green archaeological patina stands out, with turquoise tones, ochre mineral deposits, and surface concretions that give the piece a striking aesthetic presence. Condition: Good structural preservation, with a complete suspension ring, visible ornamentation, and abundant surface patina.
