Roman Empire Bronze Oil Lamp with Leaf-Shaped Handle – 1st to 3rd Century AD A Roman bronze oil lamp with a rounded reservoir, a large circular filling opening and a projecting nozzle terminating in an oval wick hole. At the rear, a curved loop handle rises above the body and supports a broad, leaf-shaped thumb rest, giving the lamp an elegant and distinctive silhouette. Small raised elements decorate the shoulders beside the nozzle, while a low rim defines the opening of the reservoir. The lamp was designed to hold oil, with a wick extending through the nozzle to provide illumination. Its surface displays a dark brown and green patina, scattered pale deposits and wear along the projecting edges. Preserved with irregularities and surface losses as shown in the photographs. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 10.7 x 4.2 cm Weight: 122.5 gr Provenance: Adquired in Germany from an auction house in 2026. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email. This item has been legally acquired under European Law.
