Ancient Near Eastern Bronze Spearhead and Javelin Point

Near East. Two ancient copper alloy implements. The first is a spearhead with a leaf-shaped blade, a raised central midrib, and a rounded shank for hafting. The second is a long, narrow projectile point of thick square section, tapering to a fine tip, with its tang bent into a hook at the end. Both pieces carry heavy encrusted mineral deposits over green patina. XRF analysis confirms a copper-based composition for both, the spearhead reading approximately 98 percent copper and the slender point a leaded copper alloy containing lead and iron. Item # 204107
