Ancient Egyptian Terracotta Beaded necklace. - 45 cm (No reserve price)

Bead collar of terracotta re-strung – Ancient Egypt Elegant necklace composed of numerous terracotta beads, from ancient Egyptian tradition, currently strung to form a long strand of approximately 40 cm in length. The beads, small in size — about 4 to 10 mm — have a characteristic discoidal and cylindrical shape, with slight irregularities inherent to their manual crafting. They preserve an attractive range of natural tones, from ochres and sands to browns and darker earth tones, creating a particularly harmonious ensemble. The matte surface, color variations, and small signs of wear give the piece a marked archaeological presence. The considerable length of the necklace allows the rhythmic sequence of the beads to be appreciated and gives it an important decorative effect, whether on display in a vitrine or presented on a stand. Cultural provenance: Ancient Egypt Material: Terracotta Total length: approx. 100 cm Diameter of the beads: approx. 4 mm Conservation status: in keeping with its age, with wear, deposits and tonal variations inherent to the material. A piece of intimate and evocative character, representative of the tradition of personal ornamentation in ancient Egypt, especially appealing for a collection of Mediterranean and Oriental archaeology.
