Old mechanical pigeon-racing timekeeper, dating probably to the first half of the 20th century, around 1920–1940, used during homing pigeon races to record their arrival times. The device is preserved in its sturdy original wooden case with a leather handle, glazed porthole, and an internal mechanism with a graduated paper dial. Beautiful antique patina with scratches and signs of use consistent with its age. Not tested. A fine collectible linked to the history of pigeon racing. Very sought-after in the world of industrial design, scientific curiosities, antique medical technology, lab optics, steampunk, and rare measuring instruments. Ideal for collectors, industrial loft decor, cabinet of curiosities, scientific display case (theodolite, microscope, sextant, compass).
