Amleto Costa Dalla (1929-2024) - Art 13'82 Basel

From the 1970s onward he increasingly devoted himself to his autonomous art and became especially known for paintings and screen prints of elegant, strongly stylized female figures. His visual language is characterized by flowing contours, large flat color fields, and a thorough simplification of form and detail, while his background as a graphic designer remains clearly recognizable. Women and the female portrait form an important recurring theme in his œuvre. Dalla Costa exhibited internationally throughout his long career and worked with diverse techniques, from painting and screen printing to sculpture and photography.
