AMA • Pope (1985) - Aurora Authentic Fake

AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora Authentic Fake" - 11/30 The only truly authentic Fake! After the indisputable success of the series "Aurora Borealis" often copied and being censored on the pretext of “counterfeiting,” the artist Pope returns with a creation that is even freer and more provocative. Since luxury brands want to muzzle artistic expression, here’s the flamboyant shove back: Aurora Authentic Fake. A unique pop art lamp, where one can read in full letters "DO NOT BUY" and "FAKE"… A clear invitation to bid! By day, a chromed teddy bear with futuristic shine. By night, an explosion of multicolored auroras that set your walls on fire. Two faces, one irony. Limited edition of 30 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with a certificate of authenticity. Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper and reinforced cardboard) with signature on delivery. Specifications: - 7 luminous colors - 3 diffusion modes (static, fading transitions, simple transitions) - Power supply via USB cord with switch (included) - Height: 20 cm - Width: 9 cm - Depth: 9 cm A collector’s item that subverts censorship into art, turning the "Aurora Authentic Fake" into a true original. Who is Pope? Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of the visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and a meticulous visual research. Through sculptures, paintings, and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and amazed gaze, attentive to both simplicity and the complexity of the world around him. Pope primarily derives inspiration from the world around him but also through currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean‑Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few. Whether it’s a gift, a keepsake, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited or non-limited editions) addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury brands and high fashion, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, agricultural and fashion industry products (sport, sneakers...), Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope enjoys mischievously subverting labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many more. Dear bidders, our collective puts in every effort so that all information necessary to appreciate the lot is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos… After the sale, no unjustified claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
