Description: Item/Description: After Winold Reiss' painting "Many White Horses & Chief Eagle Calf" featuring two Blackfeet Nation Native American men. Signed and dated lower center by Alfred M. Roy / 1928. Back features pencil inscriptions, artist info, and a preliminary sketch of painting. Originally painted in 1927 by the celebrated German-American artist Winold Reiss (1886-1953), it was used by the Great Northern Railway starting in the late 1920s to promote tourism near Glacier National Park. It is heavily featured in the iconic 1935 book Blackfeet Indians, written by Frank Bird Linderman. Material: Gouache on Illustration Board Dimensions: Height: 18"; Width: 14".
