Alfred Charles Havell - Volodyovski Winner of the derby...

This original engraving/aquatint comes from the estate of a family from Wassenaar and was purchased in the 1960s from an auction house in The Hague. The previous owner was an enthusiast of horses and horse sports. Volodyovsky was a famous British Thoroughbred stallion (born in 1898) bred by Lady Valerie Meux. Parents: Sire Florizel II and Dam La Reine.
