All auctions / Nautica, Technica & Optic / Alfred C. Kemper The Kombi Analogue camera

Up for auction—a monumental, extraordinary, and precious miniature camera from the late 19th century: the famous The Kombi, produced in the United States by Alfred C. Kemper of Chicago starting in 1892 (based on a patent by William V. Esmond). The lot is presented in excellent overall vintage condition and displays a splendid and intact patina of time over a century old, with a manually operated mechanical action that has been tested and declared functional. Mechanics: The lot appears mechanically functional. The ingenious and primitive guillotine-type shutter, positioned on the top of the front, and operated by the corresponding curved brass lever, fires reliably when actuated manually. Aesthetics: Excellent general vintage condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The cubic-box case, entirely made of sturdy brass with its original dark-bronze finish, retains its excellent geometric solidity without deformations or structural dents. The surfaces display the classic and fascinating signs of time, very light superficial scratches, and a magnificent antique patina accumulated over its more than 130 years of history. International tracked shipping, fully insured, and professional ultra-protective packaging to ensure maximum safety during transport.
