Alfred-Arthur Brunel de Neuville (1852-1941), Kittens with a Lobster

Oil on canvas, signed. A delightful still life featuring three playful kittens curiously gathered around a freshly caught lobster and kitchenware atop a rustic tabletop. Renowned for his charming depictions of cats, Brunel de Neuville captures the animals' inquisitive expressions and lively personalities with remarkable sensitivity. Rich, warm tones and subtle chiaroscuro create an intimate domestic atmosphere, while the careful rendering of textures-from the lobster's shell to the kittens' soft fur-demonstrates the artist's accomplished technique.
