Interesting letters addressed to a newspaper editor regarding his publications: “I am hastening to send you 14 pages on LOTI, written specifically and without delay for *La Revue Générale*, in accordance with your kind request. You gave me carte blanche regarding length, and since the magazine’s issues are to contain a great deal of text, I thought I would please you by expanding on the subject a bit, especially since it is highly topical. If, after reading the manuscript, you prefer this title: ‘Pierre LOTI, the Man and His Work,’ you may place it at the beginning of the article to be typeset…” (excerpt)
