Alex Meijer (1930-1940) - Art Nouveau Revival...

Splendid antique silver pendant designed by the Dutch silversmith Alex Meijer from Schoonhoven, who worked as a silversmith from 1928 to 1963. The pendant is made in the Art Nouveau Revival style, specifically around the 1930s or 1940s. Including an 835 silver chain of 71 cm. Bearing the silver mark “zwaardje” that was used from 1906 to 1953 and the master mark Alex Meijer. The chain bears the silver mark “ZII”. This type of jewelry is a beloved collectible for enthusiasts of antique Dutch applied art from the early 20th century. Chain length is 71.0 cm. Weight is 20.00 grams. After decades of careful collecting I have decided to part with (a portion of) my collection. I want these exceptional objects to find a place with a new enthusiast who understands the value of historical preservation. It is time that these pieces receive the attention they deserve, so they are preserved for the distant future. I ensure very careful packaging and insured shipping. Photos are part of the description.
