Alessi - Carlo Alessi - Coffee set (3) - Cilindrico Coffee Set - Stainless

Vintage Alfra Alessi Coffee/Tea Service "Cylindrical Series" – Carlo Alessi (1946) Three-piece service of the "Cylindrical Series," designed in 1946 by Carlo Alessi for Alfra (brand of the Alessi manufactory). The set is an example of post-war Italian rationalist design, characterized by geometric lines and cylindrical shapes. The pieces feature squared handles and black bakelite knobs. The lot consists of: • 1 Coffee/Teapot with lid: capacity for 4 cups • 1 Sugar pot with lid and double handle: capacity for 4 cups • 1 Milk carafe with spout: capacity for 2 cups All pieces bear on the underside the original cold-stamped mark of the Alfra Italy manufactory with the phoenix logo, attesting production dating to the 1950s. Condition of the object: The service is in original vintage condition. The external chrome retains mirror-like shine. It shows signs of wear and use: there are external hazing halos and localized oxidation spots inside and along the edges (as visible in the detail photos). The bakelite of the handles and knobs is in good usable condition. • Designer: Carlo Alessi • Manufacturer: Alfra Alessi • Model year: 1946 • Materials: Chrome-plated metal and bakelite
