Iconic cheese server "Phil" (model AC12), designed by the master of Italian design Achille Castiglioni in 1982 for Alessi. Although the brand catalog lists the absolute bestseller as Ettore Sottsass's 5071 cheese server, this specific model with the distinctive slender handle in steel rod that also functions as a lid rest (thanks to the rear lever that raises the lid when pressed) is a historic piece signed by Castiglioni. Here are the main details linked to this object and the Alessi universe: Made in 18/10 polished stainless steel for the body and lid, paired with an internal bowl in heavy crystal-clear glass. • Smart functionality: As is typical of Castiglioni's creations, the aesthetics serve the function. The long handle allows passing the cheese server to the table without touching the container body, and the ingenious lever mechanism on the back enables lifting and locking the lid with one hand. Condition: excellent, minuscule micro-scratches barely detectable (see last photo).
