"Arquitecturas del Ascenso" is a series of paintings that explores the staircase as a structural, visual, and symbolic axis within abstract architectures. Each work is a visual construction where architectural logic folds to the rules of pictorial geometry: overlapped planes, precise cuts, defined contours, and carefully designed color palettes. In this series, the staircase ceases to be a simple functional element and becomes the protagonist. It not only articulates spaces but also defines rhythms, hierarchies, and visual pathways. Some appear as three-dimensional objects within a built environment; others, as graphic signs floating over impossible planes, breaking with traditional spatial logic. The “ascent” is not merely a physical direction, but an idea: a visual impulse toward the height, the depths, or the symbolically inaccessible. The compositions invite a mental transit through structures that are not inhabited, but contemplated; fictitious architectures that exist only on the pictorial plane.
