The composition explores the visual language of geometric abstraction through a carefully balanced arrangement of bold colours, clean lines and contrasting rectangular fields. A white circle surrounding a blue centre evokes the image of a full moon in the darkness of night, while the surrounding black, light blue, yellow and red areas create a striking interplay of colour, rhythm and spatial balance. The work combines a simplified, almost emblematic image of the moon with a precise geometric composition. Its restrained visual vocabulary invites the viewer to contemplate the relationship between darkness and light, stillness and structure, and the expressive power of colour and form. The title is inspired by "Moonlight Shadow", the song by Mike Oldfield. This musical reference provides a personal point of departure for the work, connecting its nocturnal imagery with the evocative atmosphere of the song. Originality and signature This is a unique, original painting, not a print or reproduction. It is signed on the reverse of the canvas, where an inscription records the title, date, place, and exact time of completion. Condition and shipping The artwork is in excellent condition, with no known defects. The full canvas measures 100 × 80 cm, including an additional 10 cm on each side for stretching. The intended visible image area is 90 × 70 cm once mounted on a suitable stretcher. The painting will be shipped rolled for transport. It is sold without stretcher bars or a frame, so the buyer will need to arrange stretching and framing after delivery.
