Аквариум (Aquarium) - Навигатор (Navigator) – Rare...

Message to the expert (not sure how to do it otherwise): There is no evidence of the existence linen cover. On the pictures on Discogs release the cover and inlay are definitely paperwork. I checked on the Russian sites online there is no confirmation or even mention of linen cover existence. The record I have, judging by print, labels and paper, quality is NOT a new press. as discogs advises it is 1995 press So I assume it is an original press. I'm contacting other owners now just to find out what kind of cover they have.... Result: New research with other sellers shows that none of them has a copy with a linen cover. Also, the information fits with the description on Discogs release page. Аквариум ‎"Навигатор" Aquarium "Navigator" AM 064LP Original first press 500 copies 1995 Russia Extremely rare pressing in highly collectable condition. No stickers or writings on cover and labels. One tiny tear on the insert corner, see pictures. Paper cover with inlay VG+. Vinyl between VG+ and EX with insignificant usage marks. Excellent condition. The Discogs release claims that the cover is linen and textured. But even the release pictures are clearly showing it is made of paper. According to information on the net there was only one vinyl release in 1995. So, the linen cover is a myth. The album "Navigator" by the Russian group "Aquarium" is a signifying studio work by its leader Boris Grebenshchikov, recorded in 1995. Its original release was not available on vinyl: at that time, music was released mostly on CD and compact cassette. Unverified but an interesting claim is that the album became available on vinyl only as a limited edition of 500 copies. Recorded in September 1995 in London. This album features legendary names. Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor (solo on "Don't Mow" and "Customs Blues") and Fairport Convention drummer Dave Mattacks contributed to the album. The renowned Jerry Boyce served as producer and engineer. Aquarium members: BG — vocals and guitar Oleg Sakmarov — flute, yimba, recorder Alexander Titov — bass Alexey Zubarev — electric guitar, harpsichord Sergey Shchurakov — accordions and mandolins Andrey Vikharev — zhuire, tambourine, and Tibetan drum Andrey Surotdinov — violins, violas, harpsichord, and piano Guest musicians: Dave Mattacks — drums Mick Taylor — guitars Anthony Thistlethwaite — mouth harmonica Danny Thompson - contrabass BJ Cole - pedal steel guitar
