Agave - BD Griffith

Agave by BD Griffith Photograph 24.0 x 30.0 :: The hardy agave or century plant can grow for 25 years or more before growing an enormous flower stalk up to 14 ft. tall that dwarfs the plant. The agave spends all of its energy to father a new generation sacrificing its life in the process. I photographed this plant along the Secret Canyon trail in the Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness in the Coconino National Forest near Sedona Arizona. This image was shot on high-resolution 6x7cm medium-format film for smooth details and authentic color. It is printed on Fuji Crystal Archive type-C paper and face-mounted directly to acrylic for frame-less presentation with outstanding depth contrast and color. The acrylic has a Trulife anti-reflective coating for gloss with reduced glare.
