Large-scale Neoclassical figural sculpture after Marius Jean Antonin Mercie's Gloria Victis, with a multi-tone metallic patina in silver, gold, aqua, rust-orange, and green, mounted on a black marble base. Mercie conceived the original Gloria Victis following the Franco-Prussian War, and the work was first exhibited in 1874.
