Æ (XX–XXI) Jimi Hendrix — Electric Voodoo (Set of 2) Hand-Finished · Signed · Numbered · Certificate of Authenticity Included This monochrome diptych explores two complementary dimensions of Jimi Hendrix: the introspective visionary and the electrifying performer. Rather than documenting specific moments, the works interpret the enduring mythology surrounding Hendrix—a musician whose creativity transformed the electric guitar into an instrument of limitless expression. The first composition presents Hendrix immersed in quiet contemplation, where imagination, spirituality, and artistic discovery emerge through layered textures and atmospheric contrasts. The second embraces the intensity of performance, capturing the moment when music dissolves into movement, energy, and improvisation. Together, the two works create a visual dialogue between reflection and release, silence and sound, restraint and explosive creativity. Inspired by underground music publications, psychedelic concert posters, Japanese manga, woodblock print traditions, and expressive ink techniques, the compositions combine dramatic monochrome contrast with distressed surfaces and richly layered graphic elements. Light and shadow become expressive forces, transforming the visual space into a field of rhythm, vibration, and emotional intensity. Executed entirely in black and white, the works favor atmosphere over documentary realism. Ink-like textures, fractured compositions, and weathered surfaces evoke feedback, distortion, and improvisation, translating the spirit of Hendrix’s music into a symbolic visual language that feels both timeless and contemporary. Each artwork is individually hand-finished using spray paint and pastel crayons, introducing subtle variations in texture and tonal depth while preserving consistency across the edition. Every diptych is therefore unique. Educated in Digital Design & Multimedia Technologies and East Asian Studies, his work explores memory, mythology, identity, and the emotional power of iconic imagery. His artworks are held in private collections throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, including works acquired by the Oriental Art Collection of the Zaragoza Museum. Working primarily in monochrome, Æ employs reduction, contrast, and symbolic forms to create images that exist between contemporary pop culture and timeless visual archetypes. His compositions frequently draw inspiration from music, cinema, Japanese printmaking, and underground publishing traditions. Critical Acclaim Thierry Fournier of Artnoises described Æ’s work as: “A transgression of borders, merging the DNA of civilization’s past and future.
