A broad and excellent-condition set of the "Minuet" service, the design Adams & Sons inherited from J. Meir & Son’s nineteenth-century plates and reinterpreted in their own Staffordshire manufacture, with classical scenes of buildings and lakeside landscapes in black and white. Produced by William Adams & Sons, a firm founded in 1657 and a member of the Wedgwood group, each piece is stamped as "Real English Ironstone" and "Member of the Wedgwood Group," placing its manufacture after 1966. This lot includes, in addition to the plates, the service pieces typical of a full dinnerware set: soups tureen with original ladle, bean dish, and sauce boat. • 20 flat plates of 25.5 cm • 5 flat plates of 23.5 cm • 5 flat plates of 20.5 cm • 8 flat plates of 18 cm • 6 deep plates of 22.5 cm • 1 gravy/sauce boat with 23 cm • 1 small oval tray of 29.5 cm • 1 soup tureen with original ladle • 1 bean dish • 1 sauce boat Condition report The plates, the gravy boat, the small oval tray, the bean dish and the sauce boat are in pristine condition. The soup tureen with its ladle shows crazing and patina typical of the period.
