The design consists of horizontal bands in which stylized figures promenade hand in hand in a cheerful circle dance. Dancers with wide triangular skirts, adorned with concentric chevron motifs, alternate with men in jackets and trousers, in a sequence evoking village feasts, traditional dances, and ancient popular celebrations. Among the figures appear small decorative motifs: stylized red tulips, green leaves, seeds and small gold hearts that recall the embroideries of old dowries. The figurative bands alternate with vertical red-raspberry, blue denim and cream stripes, closed by slender checkered borders in green, ocher, orange and light blue. The palette is warm and cheerful: red, pink, fuchsia, blue, light blue, forest green, ocher and brown on a natural ecru background with a linen-like appearance. Avoid direct steam and high heat on the jacquard surface.
