A PAIR OF CARVED OAK GOTHIC REVIVAL HALL BENCHES IN THE MANNER OF A.W.N. PUGIN, CIRCA 1850 With architectural carved detail and embossed leather upholstery 68cm high, 178cm wide and 165cm wide respectively, 48cm deep The present lot relates to the designs of A.W.N. Pugin (1812-1852), through the combination of oak and embossed leather, architectural pillars and arches, carved stylised Tudor roses, foliage enriched brackets and chamfered edges. Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use Some old chips and splits The leather with some thinning, wear and craquelure, with some minor discolouration - generally however it is in good usable order and free from any significant tears or holes (see images) Both stools solid and stable and in good usable order Some old screw repairs Please see all additional images accessible via the link in the report - they are a vital part of this condition report.
