second half of the 19th century, attributed to MATHIEU BEFORT (1813–1880) in Paris, ebony-veneered hardwood body with projecting central section, the latter with one door and so-called Vernis Martin painted decoration depicting a mythological scene, flanked by one glazed door on either side, correspondingly glazed sides, rosewood-veneered interior fitted with shelves, white-grey veined marble top, rich gilt bronze mount decoration, c. 107 x 120 x 38 cm, restored condition.
