Peter, Royal Air Force, late Royal Engineers and Royal Flying Corps, a founder member of No. 70 Squadron, who shot down an enemy aircraft in a combat on 23 March 1917, but not before his Sopwith Strutter had been ‘very badly shot about’, thereby necessitating a crash-landing in which he was injured Military Cross, G.V.R., unnamed as issued; Air Force Cross, G.V.R., unnamed as issued; British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaves (Capt. L. H. Peter. R.F.C.) mounted for wear, with four related miniature awards - these lacking M.I.D. emblem, all housed in a Spink & Son Ltd, King St. leather case, generally good very fine (4) £2,800-£3,400.
