A FRENCH MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND SILVER MOUNTED PURSE late 19th Century, unmarked, the hinged mother-of-pearl covers applied with a pierced and engraved silver overlay of rococo cartouches, flowers and scrolling foliage, the reverse with a shaped cartouche engraved with initials, with red leather sides and a gilt-metal push-button, the interior lined in cream silk with two divisions. 7.5cm wide Opens and closes well. A small tear in a fold of the interior. A small chip to the edge of the mother-of-pearl verso. No losses to the overlay.
