A FINE GEORGE III STERLING SILVER COFFEE URN C. 1785 THOMAS CHAWNER the 18th century Georgian silver tea or coffee urn in the style of a samovar, in the Neo-Classical style, of lobed tapering form with a pair of fluted scroll handles, the cover with urn shaped finial above, raised on a spreading socle over a shaped square foot, on four ball feet, richly engraved with borders of flowerheads and foliage and floral garlands, with a fluted tap with ivory handle, (Ivory exemption certificate: G22VAQV3), hallmarked London, 1785, TC for Thomas Chawner, also with Dutch import mark of crowned V (1814-1893), 1168g (37.55 oz.t.) 37cm high sculpture
