A Collection of English Arcadian and Carlton China Crested Souvenir Ware

A collection of English glazed porcelain and bone china souvenir ware featuring various heraldic crests and scenic views. The grouping includes a bag-form bagware teapot with blue rope-molding decoration, a shell-form wall pocket, a thistle-shaped vase, miniature pitchers, a lidded jar, and a set of miniature binoculars depicting Blackpool scenes. Pieces feature transfer-printed crests for regions including the City of Westminster, Middlesex, Douglas, Swindon, Margate, and Walton-on-the-Naze, many accented with hand-applied gilt rims. The teapot base is printed in black with a crown mark above ARCADIAN and the text PUB. BY JOHN B. SNELL VICTORIA STREET WESTMINSTER. The shell dish and lidded jar both bear the ARCADIAN CHINA crown mark, while the thistle vase features a crown mark with W & R and CARLTON CHINA STOKE ON TRENT. Other marks include a diamond-shaped stamp with W and BRITISH MADE on the Swindon pitcher, a crest mark for CITY CHINA on the Margate pitcher, and the word Foreign printed on the bases of the binoculars and the Margate sugar bowl.
