A. Candreva (XX-XXI) - La primavera ci appartiene

Andrea Candreva – “Spring Belongs to Us” – 30 × 50 cm A large tree with a bright green canopy dominates a sparse coastal landscape, becoming the visual and emotional center of the work. The dark, sinuous, inclined trunk supports an explosion of leaves built through a dense mesh of green touches, lemon yellow and whites. The vegetation expands on the very light background with a light movement, as if swept by a breeze that dissolves its edges. Under the branches, two figures sit close together on a swing, rendered with essential black silhouettes that entrust to the proximity of their bodies the meaning of the entire scene. The sea and the sky meet in a sequence of delicate grays; small distant sails and a lighthouse with green bands introduce discreet allusions to travel and the horizon. The contrast between the vitality of the canopy and the silence of the landscape heightens the intimacy of the couple. From this emerges a poetic vision of love as a place of pause and sharing, guarded by the protective presence of nature.
