A Victorian-era Wedgwood bone china partial tea set decorated in pattern Y 3714. The set comprises a teapot with a lid, a double-handled covered sugar bowl, a cream jug, and a single teacup with a coordinating saucer. Each vessel is crafted from fine bone china and features a globular form with a gadrooned or fluted lower body and white-ground upper sections. The teapot and sugar bowl are fitted with domed, gadrooned lids topped with circular finials. The handles and teapot spout are classically formed with subtle scroll details and gilding. The pieces are decorated with an intricate polychrome pattern inspired by Paisley textiles, consisting of scrolling foliate motifs, imbricated fill patterns, and small floral sprigs in a palette of burnt orange, mustard yellow, turquoise, and black. All pieces are finished with gilded rims, handle highlights, and finials. The underside of the teapot bears a blue printed Wedgwood factory mark featuring the Portland Vase and a hand-painted pattern number Y 3714 in turquoise. The base also retains a collector's sticker for the Rubin Collection and a handwritten inventory label dating the set to circa 1880.
