5¢ MILLS ROCK-OLA FOK VENDER SLOT MACHINE

5¢ MILLS ROCK-OLA FOK VENDER SLOT MACHINE Desirable 5¢ Mills / Rock-Ola F.O.K. mint vender slot machine, circa 1920s, combining classic early slot machine play with a four-column mint vending feature. This floor-model coin-operated machine was designed so that each nickel purchase dispensed a roll of mints, while also giving the player the opportunity to win a jackpot, making it both a vending machine and an amusement gambling device. The machine has excellent visual presence, with a detailed front casting, gooseneck coin chute, tall cabinet form, and attractive early coin-op styling. The four-column mint vendor adds strong collector appeal, as vending slot machines of this type were designed to operate in a legal gray area by providing merchandise with each play while still offering a chance payout. This example shows an older restoration and presents very well overall. The cabinet displays nicely with light wear, and the machine retains an impressive arcade and saloon-era appearance. The vending mechanism is operational, and the machine plays and pays, though there is no deferred pay function. Award cards and reel strips have been replaced, and the machine is currently without a marquee. Keys are included. A highly decorative and collectible early American coin-operated vending slot machine, well suited for a coin-op collection, saloon display, game room, antique arcade, or early vending machine collection.
