3 Guna (Kuna) Mola Blouses, Panama, San Blas Islands

Central America, Panama, San Blas Islands, Guna (Kuna) culture, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. Three cotton mola blouses composed of brightly colored upper yokes with short gathered sleeves and lower mola panels created in the traditional layered reverse appliqué technique. One blouse displays an abstract geometric composition, and another presents a bell motif framed by scrolling geometric elements. The largest features a circular design with a stylized bull and the words "Estados Unidos Monaco," with the verso showing a horse and "Supercentro Monaco."
