2019 Domaine Jacques Prieur - Chambertin Grand Cru - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Domaine Jacques Prieur – Chambertin Grand Cru 2019: 94/100 Burghound, a Pinot Noir of great breed at the summit of power and elegance. Hailing from one of Burgundy's most prestigious terroirs, this Grand Cru reveals the full nobility of a sunny and concentrated vintage. Its intense nose unveils blackberry, cassis, black cherry and violet, enhanced by pepper, spices and subtle notes of cedar. On the palate, the texture is masterful, dense and deep, supported by ripe tannins and a freshness that balances its power. Manuel Peyrondet, Best Sommelier of France and Best Craftsman of France, enthuses over a Chambertin that is “magistral,” with exceptional intensity. He notes the depth of the black fruit, the warm spices, the mocha notes and an endless finish. Burghound awards it 94/100, praising its concentration, power and its particularly serious mineral finish. Jancis Robinson gives it 17.5/20, describing a concentrated, spectacular wine with a defined tannic framework. Still young, this great Burgundy will gain complexity with time and can evolve magnificently up to the mid-century. A collectible Chambertin, powerful, characterful and imperial, destined for lovers of great Pinot Noirs and for the finest tables.
