With a production of just 3,822 bottles, this is an appealing lot for lovers of old-vine Tempranillo. Viñedo Viejo comes from a small vineyard planted in 1950 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The back label describes a plot of just 0.877 hectares, with approximately 2,800 vines growing in sandy soil and carefully tended without machinery. Made from 100% Tempranillo, the wine spent 21 months in new French oak barrels before bottling on 1 February 2021. This extended maturation, followed by several years in bottle, adds to the appeal of this limited release.
