Dom Pérignon remains committed to quality and continuous innovation, a legacy upheld by current Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon, who took up the mantle in 2019. The Maison’s philosophy—focused on expressing the character of specific vintages—reflects the ambition to create the "best wine in the world," a goal established when Dom Pierre Pérignon was appointed cellar master at the Abbey of Hautvillers. An iconic cuvée acclaimed for its excellence by the finest connoisseurs, every Dom Pérignon Vintage captures the pure, authentic expression of a specific year in Champagne. 2017 was marked by historic heat and episodes of extreme weather. Spring brought frosts, followed by a hot, dry summer. Late-August rains created pressure from *Botrytis*. These contrasting conditions yielded Chardonnay of great ripeness, while the rare Pinot Noir displayed remarkable balance between maturity and freshness. This vintage represents a radical gesture, concluding thirty years of creative exploration led by Richard Geoffroy. Vinification and Aging Dom Pérignon Vintage 2017 is the result of a slow metamorphosis unfolding over nearly nine years. The winemaking process scrupulously follows the principles of the *Méthode Champenoise*, with an absolute commitment to faithfully expressing the vintage.
