Parker 94+ Perfect fill Label slightly yellowed Excellent capsule Bottle 75cl Always stored in electronic cellar Ready to drink! Carton shipping, Colissimo post A Pauillac wine rich, complex and elegant The property Located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste took its current form in 1855, although it had been built since the 16th century. The estate has been marked by the tenure of Raymond Dupin from 1930 to 1978. He then ceded the property to the Borie family in 1978, which since then has carried out many renovations. Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is today one of the most representative wines of the Pauillac appellation. The vineyard Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2016 is a Pauillac wine from a vineyard of 90 hectares, of which 58 hectares are planted in one block on deep gravel hillsides. The vintage Exceptional climatic conditions characterize this 2016 vintage. The winter was marked by mildness and heavy rains, requiring particular attention at budbreak. Then, flowering could benefit from a week with magnificent meteorological conditions to proceed quickly and evenly. One can still note a June with quite extreme temperatures (from 7°C to 36°C) and rain stopping in mid-June. Then, until harvest, rainfall was extremely rare, thus creating a hydric constraint necessary for the vine to focus on berry maturation. Rapid and homogeneous, véraison could benefit from the large thermal amplitude between hot days and cool nights, allowing the grapes to reach optimal maturity for harvest, which took place from September 28 to October 13. Vinification and aging The aging is carried out in barrels, with a proportion of 75% new barrels. Blend Cabernet Sauvignon (79%) Merlot (21%)
