Bodegas López Heredia Viña Tondonia. The Viña Gravonia Crianza 2015 was rated "Very Good" and received high praise from wine critics, especially for being a traditional-style white Rioja. These are the most cited scores: -James Suckling: 95/100 -Wine Spectator: 94/100 -Guía Peñín: 94/100 -Tim Atkin: 94/100 -Robert Parker / Wine -Advocate: 93/100 -John Gilman: 92+/100 Critics particularly highlighted: Its elegant and classic oxidative profile Notes of wax, dried fruit, candied lemon, and dehydrated apple Excellent acidity and great aging potential Creamy texture and a very long finish James Suckling described it as a "classic white Rioja" with great density and a waxy, vibrant finish. Viña Gravonia wines come from the estate called Viña Zaconia, in reference to the term from which it comes. Historically these wines were called Viña Zaconia, when they were made as sweet wines from botritys cinerea, just as they were called Sauternia in clear reference to the French Sauternes. This farm is located 200 meters from the winery in a straight line and close to the banks of the Ebro River and the average age of the vineyard is 45 years. The orientation of the plantation is South. The soils are poor and gravelly slopes, we could rather describe them as "aridisols", with a loose, stony structure where the roots penetrate more easily, obtaining berries that are balanced in their biological composition and harmonious and complete ripening. They are white, a color that determines the tone of the varieties, benefiting, in this case, the white ones. Aging: 4 years in American oak barrels with two rackings per year and then several more years in the bottle before its release to the market. IMPORTANT !!
