2000 Fontodi Flaccianello Della Pieve - Tuscany IGT - 1...

The 2000 Flaccianello della Pieve by Tenuta Fontodi, presented in the exceptionally rare and prestigious 3-liter Jeroboam format, stands as an absolute holy grail for international wine collectors and connoisseurs. This legendary Supertuscan is crafted from 100% pure organic Sangiovese selected from the estate's finest plots in the celebrated Conca d'Oro valley of Panzano in Chianti. Aged for twenty-four months in new French oak barriques (Troncais and Allier), this vintage has developed majestically inside the 3-liter bottle. The large volume guarantees an incredibly slow micro-oxygenation, allowing the wine to build profound complexity while preserving a remarkably vibrant freshness that standard bottle sizes cannot match. The warm 2000 vintage yielded a wine of superb concentration and richness. It displays a deep ruby color with elegant garnet edges. The bouquet is grand and seductive, offering notes of ripe dark cherries, plums, and violets, beautifully interwoven with multi-layered tertiary aromas of tobacco, leather, licorice, cocoa, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety, and perfectly rounded, with polished, fine-grained tannins supporting a virtually endless, warming finish. Widely praised by international critics with 93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and 92 points from Wine Spectator, this Jeroboam is a trophy piece for high-profile auctions. It has been flawlessly stored under professional cellar conditions and features a 14% alcohol content.
