1998 Angelo Gaja Sorì San Lorenzo - Barbaresco - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Up for auction is a prestigious bottle of Gaja Sorì San Lorenzo 1998 in the classic 0.75L format. This wine represents one of the absolute masterpieces of Angelo Gaja, coming from one of the most famous and historic crus in the Barbaresco area. In line with the company philosophy of the era, the 1998 vintage is officially classified as Langhe DOC, the result of a masterful and historic blend composed of approximately 95% Nebbiolo and 5% Barbera. This minimal percentage of Barbera was introduced to balance the acidity and bestow the wine with extraordinary complexity, freshness, and an exceptional aging potential. International critics have praised this specific vintage with top-tier scores, including a standout 96/100 from Robert Parker for The Wine Advocate, 96/100 from Antonio Galloni for Vinous, and 95/100 from Wine Spectator, making this lot an unmissable collector's item for enthusiasts and investors worldwide. From an evolutionary perspective, the wine is in an extraordinary state of grace, proving to be perfectly ready to drink now to appreciate its highly refined tertiary bouquet, while simultaneously being excellent for cellaring with an estimated further aging capacity of 5 to 10 years. The bottle has been stored under ideal conditions, at constant temperature and humidity inside a private cellar. As visible in the detailed photographs, the label is perfectly intact, the capsule is sealed and original, and the fill level in the neck is excellent. The lot will be shipped via insured and trackable express courier, protected within secure, professional packaging specifically designed for premium bottles, excluding shipping to countries where the import of alcohol is prohibited by local regulations.
