Bottle that needs no introduction, always kept in the cellar at constant temperature and humidity. DESCRIPTION A splendid bottle of Château Lafite Rothschild 1996, one of the most prestigious and sought-after Premier Grand Cru Classé in Bordeaux, is up for auction. The bottle has always been stored in the cellar, under controlled temperature and humidity conditions, and comes from an original case from Château Lafite Rothschild which is also always kept in the cellar in optimal conditions. Such provenance and preservation is a particularly important element for a large Bordeaux with almost 30 years of evolution in bottle. 1996 is considered one of the great classic years of Bordeaux, particularly successful in the Pauillac area. The vintage benefited from a warm July, followed by a cooler and rainier August that slowed ripening, while the return of sunshine in September and good conditions in October allowed the grapes to reach excellent maturity. In Lafite, the selection was particularly rigorous: only 38% of the harvest went to the Grand Vin. The assembly is characterized by a very high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, a distinctive element of this thousandth. Specialist sources report approximately 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, completed by Merlot and Petit Verdot; some sources also report a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, depending on the assembly analysis. In a vertical tasting dedicated to Château Lafite Rothschild, 1996 was also listed among the best wines of the tasting selection. CONSERVATION AND PROVENANCE The bottle has always been stored in the cellar, in an environment with temperature and humidity maintained in optimal conditions, the bottle has a slightly labeled and perfect capsule. It also comes from a case of Château Lafite Rothschild preserved in the same condition, an element that adds particular interest from a collecting and conservation traceability point of view. For a 1996 Bordeaux, proper preservation represents an essential factor in preserving integrity, wine level and evolutionary potential.
