Castello Banfi Poggio all'Oro 1995 Riserva: - Punti Parker: 96+ - James Suckling (JS): 95 points ''A magnificent wine with raspberry and mineral character, plus hints of rose. Full-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh, clean finish. So beautiful now. A wonderful example of aged Brunello" - Fill level: Neck of the bottle Vintage Analysis (1995) The 1995 vintage is recognized as one of Montalcino's historic and most balanced (rated 5 Stars/Excellent by the Brunello Consortium). Characterized by an ideal ripening season, it produced wines with a solid tannic structure, high concentration, and a pronounced natural acidity. Compared to the subsequent 1997 vintage, the 1995 stands out for its greater austerity, elegance, and longevity. Producer and Wine Overview Poggio all'Oro represents the pinnacle of Castello Banfi's production and one of the most celebrated and awarded Brunello Riserva crus on the international market. From a single, particularly suited vineyard located in the southwest of Montalcino, this wine is vinified only during exceptionally high-quality harvests. The long aging in oak and subsequent bottle maturation are designed to ensure long-lasting, age-appropriate wines that will evolve over many decades. The bottles were stored in a temperature-controlled cellar, with packaging appropriate to the importance of the bottles.
