1976 – Montesa Cota 74, Chassis No. 16M8750 Engine No. unidentified

No registration certificate; no roadworthiness test The Montesa Cota 74, which first appeared in the mid-1970s, is a small trial motorbike belonging to the famous Cota family, one of the most iconic ranges from the Spanish brand Montesa. The Cota 74 incorporates the principles developed for competition models, in a compact and accessible format. It is fitted with a 74 cm³ single-cylinder two-stroke engine, paired with a gearbox designed for trial riding. Its design prioritises lightness, manoeuvrability and the ability to negotiate obstacles at low speed. Its frame and suspension are designed for use on rough terrain. With its aesthetic typical of 1970s trial motorbikes and its direct link to Montesa’s prestigious sporting history, the 1976 Cota 74 is now a particularly interesting vintage motorbike. It represents an era when Spanish trial riding dominated the sport and when brands such as Montesa, Bultaco and Ossa gained an international reputation.
