1973 Porsche 911 2.4 E Targa - Original engine, original light yellow colour - Documented history, same owner for 26 years - Sold new in Austria 1973 Porsche 911 2.4 E Targa This Porsche Targa is a 2.4 E version which features a 165 hp engine that was ranked between the entry-level T version and the more powerful S version. In ‘Light Yellow’ ’ (ref. 117-9-1), it was first registered on the 27th September 1973 in the name of Marianne Hainzl from Innsbruck in Austria, whose profession was listed as a waitress on the registration document! The car was sold the following year and all consecutive Austrian owners are listed on the original registration document. The car had been in the same hands since 1982 when its current owner acquired it in 2000. The car comes with a file of invoices dating back to the 1990s, attesting to its servicing history. When it was restored, black leather sports seats were fitted to improve comfort and support, while the steering wheel was also replaced with a more modern Momo model. The dashboard also features an optional period car radio. With less than 1,900 examples produced, the 911 2.4 E Targa is a relatively rare Porsche; in working order, this example comes in a particularly desirable colour and still has its original engine. Combined with its documented history, this makes it a particularly interesting model. Photos © Filip Nagy
