Wine bought directly from Campo Viejo winery in 2012. Stored in private cellar up to today. Bottles in outstanding condition: very good filling level, corks, color, capsules, labels, no leakage. Fully mature and therefore drinking well now, or cellar for next 20-25 years. - Campo Viejo 1969 Reserva: This is very rare 57-year-old traditional Rioja wine was produced in a limited edition by Campo Viejo winery. Fermented and matured for 12 months in a big wooden vat and then aged for 36 to 40 months in cask. Racked 6 times, once every 6 months, using the traditional cask-to-cask Riojan method. Currently, it would be classified "Gran Reserva" by the Regulatory Board of Rioja. 70% tempranillo, 30% garnacha, mazuelo and graciano. Bottled in July 1974 directly from the barrel (not filtered) and placed on the market in 1977. - Viña Acorta 1982 Reserva (Vidueño Tempranillo Edition): The vintage 1982 was top-rated "Excellent" by the Regulatory Board of La Rioja, the very first time since 1964. This legendary year in Rioja was incredibly solid and unanimously considered one of the best vintages of the 20th century. Viña Alcorta Reserva 1982 "Vidueño Tempranillo Edition" was an extremely limited-edition wine from the Campo Viejo winery. The Spanish term "Vidueño" has no literal translation in other languages. It refers to the blending of different grape local varieties planted together in the same old vineyard and harvested and vinified together. The age of the vineyards is very old, exceeding 100 years in most cases, which means high production costs. Although Tempranillo is the dominant grape, the term also refers to the ancient tradition of adding, in small proportions, other traditional grapes to give complexity, grace, or to balance the acidity and structure of the wine.
