1924-D Mercury Dime. MS-66 FB (NGC). Brilliant and satiny surfaces are aglow with full, smooth mint luster. The strike is razor sharp not only in the centers, but also in virtually all areas at the borders. The 1924-D has a mintage of 6,810,000 pieces, a limited total by later Mercury dime standards, but generous enough for its era to make this one of the more frequently offered Denver Mint issues from the Roaring 20s; in an absolute sense, of course, this issue is scarce in Mint State and very scarce to rare in certified grades above MS-65 FB, as here. Provenance: From the Mack C. Chase Collection. NGC Census: 38; 15 finer in this category (MS-67 FB finest). PCGS# 4945. NGC ID: 23HK. Click here for certification details from NGC.
