18pc Meiji Period Japanese Land Registry Documents and Revenue Stamps

A collection of Japanese manuscript documents, likely dating from the Meiji to early Taisho periods. The lot includes several sheets of washi paper featuring handwritten accounts in black ink (sumi) utilizing traditional cursive and brush scripts. One specific document on lined paper serves as a registry or ledger, featuring a horizontal strip of four orange one-sen revenue stamps. These stamps are printed with a central chrysanthemum motif and are inscribed with characters for Inshi (Revenue Stamp) and Ichi-sen (One Sen), alongside the English text ONE SN. Several red ink cancellation seals (hanko) are present, overlapping the stamps and the handwritten land designations for rice fields and crop fields. Dimensions: 15.5"W x 10.75"H Weight: 2.4 oz.
