1874 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. MS-63 (PCGS). CAC. OGH. A vivid and attractive example nicely suited for inclusion in a Mint State type set. Even medium gold color with a hint of warm orange patina, the surfaces are overall smooth and offer nice Select Uncirculated quality. While the 1874 vies with the 1854 and 1878 as the most frequently encountered three-dollar gold piece in today's market, no issue in this short-lived series can rightly be called common in an absolute sense. With demand for high grade survivors particularly strong, the present example is sure to have no difficulty attracting competitive bids at auction. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 7998. NGC ID: 25MX. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
