1839 Braided Hair Cent. Braided Hair. N-8. Rarity-1. MS-62 BN (PCGS). Noyes Die State B/B. Pleasing chestnut brown surfaces are hard and satiny in texture. Close inspection with a loupe is require to discern some minor marks and a hint of microgranularity, neither of which features are significant at the assigned grade level. This transitional 1839 Braided Hair cent is boldly defined where allowed by die state and makes a nice impression during in-hand appreciation. Provenance: From the Collection of Gary T. Athelstan. PCGS# 1817. NGC ID: 2265. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
