Finest Known 1832 O-122 Half Dollar 1832 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-122. Rarity-1. Small Letters. MS-66 (PCGS). Die State 122.1. This is the CC#1 coin for the 1832 Overton-122 dies, listed as such in the Autumn 2026 revision to Stephen J. Herrman's Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized for Bust Half Dollars: 1794-1839, in which it is recorded as the only NGC (or PCGS)/CAC MS-65. Recently elevated to MS-66 at PCGS, and deservedly so since this is a premium quality coin for not only the die pairing, but also the type and issue. Richly original surfaces are dressed in blended toning of antique gold, orange-copper, steel-blue and antique silver gray. Luster is full and satiny, the surfaces free of troublesome marks with a stunning pristine appearance in hand. Minor softness engages a few of the stars around the obverse periphery, as well as the letters UR in PLURIBUS on the reverse scroll, but in general this is a sharply to fully struck coin, and impressively so for a Lettered Edge Capped Bust half dollar. An outstanding piece worthy of the strongest bids. Provenance: From Heritage's Summer FUN Signature Auction of July 2026, lot 3595, as NGC/CAC MS-65. PCGS# 6160. NGC ID: 24FW.
